DSLR SHOOTOUT....WHO WILL WIN.

Zacuto USA produced a shootout of the new series of video-capable DSLR cameras, pitting them against each other as well as two types of film stock.

My Site Is Almost Done!!

I've been working on this site for quite sometime now and so far I’ve been making some great progress. I set my site up through Wix.com. They have an amazing interface and have introduce a new way to site building. Many hardcore web designers may not like this type of site building but for people like me it is awesome. It’s like putting a jigsaw puzzle together drag and drop then drag and drop, it’s that simple.

I’ve been meaning to build my cinematography site for sometime now, but I just didn’t know what to upload to the site or what to say. I went on a couple of DP’s site and got some ideas for my design.

Home Page Tab.

I wanted my homepage to describe what I do. So I got a Quote from Gordon Willis, ASC. He describes what a cinematographer is in one sentence as simple as possible. And on top of that, I took some still photos of my work that I’ve done in the pass and created an image gallery that can be scrolled through. 

And on the bottom includes my contact information.

Portfolio Tab.

Here is my portfolio or you can say my thesis for my graduation class of December 2009. It’s a 6-minute documentary about a fighting style called Hapkido. I’ve also won “Best Portfolio” with this project and received great feedback from friends, family, professor, and associates. By far, this is one of my strongest works. It deserves to have a page of its own, for now.

It’s self-explanatory. I have my demo reel uploaded, but its an old one. I couldn’t put anything recent because my damn hard drive crashed along with my backup drive. So now I have nothing ;(. But eventually I will get my work up there and update all the information.

I'm Bored out of my mind, I want to go shoot something

I'm on school springbreak for about 3 weeks, todays is Jun 30th 2010 so im about a week into my spring break. I have no equipments or gigs lined up! This is killing me; I need to shoot something, im talking about filming not literally shooting people. Everyday I log on to facebook and see all my friends and there friends having a blast making sweet lovely movies together while ME, DENIS DUFRESNE, is sitting at home 24/7 doing nothing, at least I’m online.

I guess I can take this time to do some research and check out some of my favorite sites, no..(sigh)…it's not porn. Geez you guys got some dirty minds, but anyways I can't sit here and do nothing. I heard of some neat sights like Cinematography.com and Canonfilmmakers.com, I might go ahead and check them out and see if there is anything interesting to read or lookup.
